IT is almost time for the curtains to be raised as an award-winning soul-pop band is set to perform in Colchester.

Simply Red, fronted by the ever-recognisable Mick Hucknall, is set to play at Castle Park today.

As the countdown hits its end, and attendees prepare to wear out their vocal cords through a night of singing, it is useful to know what you can and can’t bring to the event.

So, what can and can’t you bring?

No food and drink can be brought into the venue; however, a doctor’s note will permit food and or drink required for medical conditions. Cups of water are available at bars free of charge

  • No glass containers can be taken, including perfume and or aftershave
  • No chairs including camping chairs, folding chairs, gazebos, picnic blankets or tents are permitted
  • Umbrellas are permitted but must be taken down during the show
  • No professional cameras, video cameras or audio recording devices can be taken in

The bag policy is as expected for most concert venues.

Searches will be in operation at the event, and all bags will be searched.

No bags bigger than the dimensions of W21cm x H30cm x D8cm (A4 size) will be allowed into the arena.

Security has also noted that no dogs are permitted, except assistance dogs.

They are also making residents aware that pyrotechnics, lasers, smoke machines, strobe lighting or other special effects may take place during the performance
