Blaze - 50 acres of standing straw was burnt.
FIREFIGHTERS from Colchester, Wivenhoe and Hadleigh worked together to extinguish a blazing field fire.
Firefighers were called to Burnt Dick Hill in Boxted at 1.15pm today.
On arrival, the crews confirmed a field fire had affected about 50 acres of standing straw.
Firefighters used beaters and hose reels to combat the flames, extinguishing the fire by 3.08pm.
The cause of the fire is not yet known and is not being treated as suspicious.
