A NURSERY boss says she is “over the moon” after her team aced their  first inspection since opening nearly four years ago.

Nanna’s Day Nurseries’ Cowper Crescent complex in Colchester has received the coveted rating of outstanding in all areas by Ofsted.

The facility, which opened in September 2018, was visited by inspector Marianne Brown and her findings have now been published.

The nursery excelled in the four key areas - quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development and leadership and management.

Among many highlights, the exciting, stimulating and supportive setting impressed, in addition to the children’s success across all aspects of learning.

The youngsters, who always feel listened to, welcome and important, also exuded a confidence and independence which impressed the inspector.

During the meticulous examination, she also observed exceptional teaching methods, both indoors and outdoors, and received positive feedback from parents and staff.

She said: “Children's behaviour is excellent and staff act as strong role models for sharing, turn taking and respecting and supporting others.

“Children become all-rounded individuals with a firm sense of themselves. They learn about their emotions and how to self-regulate and problem-solve.

“This is due to staff's incredible support and deep knowledge and understanding of each child and the best ways to support their learning and development.”

Lucy Bethell, manager at Nanna’s Day Nurseries, says she couldn’t be more pleased with the inspection result.

She said: “We’re incredibly proud and thrilled with the outcome having worked hard for almost four years to provide outstanding experiences to our children and families.

“We are delighted Ofsted recognised and rewarded this hard work in the grading they have given us.

“On the day, we received the most amazing, heartfelt reviews from some of the parents to share with the inspector.

“We also received a wonderful message from the headteacher who we work closely alongside - hearing this lovely feedback makes it all worthwhile.

“The report really does reflect our team’s hard work, passion, commitment to not only their job but to the children and their families too - we are over the moon.”
