COLCHESTER Archaeological Trust is running an open day on Saturday to offer youngsters their first glimpse into Colchester’s Roman past.
Taking place at the Roman Circus Visitor Centre from 10am until 3pm, young minds will be lit up by some of the rare finds excavated from Essex County Hospital and will help solve the roman circus trail.
Plenty of hands-on activities are available too, with children offered the chance to build their own mosaic and wash some of the Roman artefacts.
Two tours of the Roman Circus will take place, one at noon, and another at 2pm.
