INTRIGUED history-lovers can now take a boat trip to a former oyster packing shed which has stood for more than 100 years ago.
The Packing Shed, positioned in the Blackwater Estuary just off Mersea Island, will be open to the public throughout the summer.
The structure became a skeleton in the 80s following a hurricane but was reopened in 1992 after a restoration.
Day-trippers can now visit the site between now and September by catching a boat from the hammerhead jetty in West Mersea.
