THE organiser of a charity football match expects a “sell-out crowd” as sporting legends go head-to-head with budding ballers.

Harwich Angels FC will face off with former Tottenham Hotspur professionals on August 14 at Harwich and Parkeston Football Club in Dovercourt.

It follows the team’s previous success against the Arsenal Foundation last year, which saw them secure a 6-2 victory and raise £14,000.

This year’s crunch game will be held in aid of the Brompton Fountain, a charity that provides children with cardiac, respiratory and intensive care.

It is also taking place in support of Angels player Nathan Smith whose daughter Myah died just ten days old in 2017 after being born with a heart condition.

In addition to the match itself, spectators will also be able to enjoy food stalls, bouncy castles and more over the course of the afternoon.

Andrea King, organiser, said: “This is going to be a sell-out crowd – we expect lots of Tottenham legends to attend and hope to raise £5,000.”

The match will kick off at 2pm with gates opening to the public at 12pm.

Tickets, which cost £6 for adults and £3 for children, can be purchased from a range of shops in Harwich and Dovercourt or by calling 07500 060277.
