A BRAND new supermarket is to open its doors with a helping hand from a former MP.
Colchester High Steward Sir Bob Russell will cut the ribbon to mark the opening of the new Tesco Express store in the city’s High Street on Wednesday.
The official ceremony held by Tesco representatives and Sir Bob will take place at 10am.
To mark the celebration, Tesco has pledged a £2,000 donation to the former MP’s Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star statue campaign, which will sit outside the new supermarket once built.
