FILM fanatics descended on Colchester Castle Park over the weekend to experience their favourite films in the great outdoors – all while gobbling up some delicious grub.
The Colchester Outdoor Film and Street Food Festival, the brainchild of Colchester Events and Pop-Up Pictures, concluded on Sunday after launching earlier last week.
The four-day movie marathon saw flick-loving families enjoy screenings of everything from Jumanji and Clueless to Friday The 13th, the Rocky Horror Picture Show and The Goonies.
The Lost Boys, Back To The Future, American Werewolf In London, Bridesmaids, The Greatest Showman, Little Shop of Horrors and Grease were all also shown on the giant silver screen.
Guests were also able to curb their hunger thanks to the presence of pop-up food market Eating Street which offered wood-fired pizza, Thai food, chip buckets, burgers and Trinidadian cuisine.
For some of the more sweet-toothed eaters, or those who like to enjoy their films with something sugary, there were also waffles to tuck into, as well as flavoured fudge.
Event organiser, Danny Banthorpe of Pop Up Pictures, said: “We had a fantastic weekend - thanks to everyone who supported us.
“It was great to see so many people getting together to enjoy some classic and cult movies in glorious weather with delicious food.
“We’ll be back next year with exciting new movies and more great-tasting food.”
