EDUCATION bosses conscious of the impact the scorching weather could have on their students have given them permission to wear their PE kit to school.
Harwich and Dovercourt High School took action in a bid to combat the extent to which a heatwave sweeping across Essex will affect its pupils.
In Dovercourt, temperatures are today expected to hit highs of 27C and 28C tomorrow, while Harwich is set to peak at 26C.
With that in mind, students have now been told they will be allowed to wear their PE kit to school over the next two days instead of their traditional uniforms.

“This must strictly be regulation PE kit and not non uniform.”
The decision comes after the Met Office issued an unprecedented “red warning for exceptional heat” after temperatures were forecast to hit 40-degrees in the UK.
In Colchester, the heatwave is set to result in highs of 36C, which is hotter than European holiday destinations such as a Malaga.
