The famed children’s book The Very Hungry Caterpillar will be wiggling its way to the Mercury Theatre for four live shows.

One of the most iconic characters in children’s literature will munch its way to Colchester following seasons in London and New York.

The theatrical recreation of Eric Carle’s loved story will take place on Wednesday, July 20 and Thursday, July 21.

The show, now a global sensation, consists of four puppeteers weaving a world of magic.

The puppeteers will use more than 75 puppets to recreate the colorful world of Carle’s illustrations.

The show will cover four classic titles: Brown Bear, 10 Little Rubber Ducks, The Very Lonely Firefly and, of course, The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

The runtime of the show is 55 minutes, with no interval.
