A GYM remains closed as cleaning works continue after a chlorine leak saw four people taken to hospital.
A major emergency service response attended Colchester Garrison’s Corporal Budd VC Gym at 11.30am yesterday after the casualties were taken ill.
It is understood workers delivering the chlorine to the gym’s 25-metre swimming pool became unwell after inhaling gas emitted from the chemical.

A Colchester Garrison spokesman today stated the gym remains closed.
He said: “The gym will be closed for a period of time for cleaning and the incident will be fully investigated in co-operation with the relevant authorities.”
