A COWARD undergoing gender therapy issued a tirade of abuse to a number of victims.

Leo Alsopp called a woman a “paedophile” and a “nonce” while urging people to share her home address with him during an abusive live broadcast on video-sharing platform TikTok.

Colchester Magistrates’ Court heard how some of the offences carried out by the 29-year-old between January 8 and February 22 have left one victim now too scared to fall asleep.

Alsopp, of Cedar Avenue, Tiptree, admitted two counts of harassment and sending offensive messages when he appeared at court on Tuesday.

The prosecution, who declined to be named, revealed there were four victims in the case who had originally become friends with Alsopp via various social media platforms.

But relations turned sour when an increasingly aggressive Alsopp made a derogatory comment about the victim's mother before adding: “Oh, you can’t, she’s dead”.

On another occasion, a female friend was invited to chat on TikTok but was labelled a “paedo, nonce and online groomer” by Alsopp, who encouraged other users to let him know her home address.

A victim impact statement read to the court detailed how this woman has been left taking taxis to her daughter’s school and shopping online due to fear of being seen in public by her abuser.

Another woman had her disabled son branded a highly offensive name and a fourth victim was told “all you are is a jumped-up back street prostitute” by the enraged defendant, the prosecution concluded.

Frank O’Toole, mitigating, said his client is undergoing gender therapy and is on a “very severe” hormone treatment which he argued could have had an impact on his behaviour.

He added: “He has pledged to come off social media for the future and accepts his behaviour demonstrated had an impact. He apologises for any anxiety caused”.

Alsopp was released on conditional bail until August 11 while a pre-sentence report is prepared for magistrates.

Magistrate Brenda Pearce said: “This means you do not contact by any means the four victims”.
