The University of Essex is celebrating its new rankings for student satisfaction.

The university, which has its main campus in Colchester, has been ranked in the top 40 for overall student satisfaction in the National Student Survey.

Courses for drama, tourism, transport and travel, liberal arts, anatomy, physiology, pathology and genetics at the university have been rated in the top ten nationally.

The survey allows students to reflect on their experience and the university saw improvements in all key areas of the survey including teaching, organisation and management.

Pro-Vice-Chancellor for education at the university Professor Madeline Eacott said: “I am delighted to see the hard work our staff have put into supporting our students’ experiences reflected in the NSS.

“It has been a difficult period for students and staff, and it is encouraging that we have been able to deliver an improved experience for our students.

“In the coming year we will continue to build on our progress.

“We remain committed to delivering a transformational campus-based education with student success at the heart of everything we do.

“We will continue to strengthen our support for every student from every background so they can achieve outstanding outcomes and be prepared to thrive in their future lives.”
