COLCHESTER United's Papa John's Trophy Group A fixture dates have been confirmed.
The U's will take on League Two rivals Gillingham and Charlton Athletic of League One, along with Brighton and Hove Albion's under-21 side.
Colchester will begin their 2022-23 EFL Trophy campaign with a home clash with Brighton under-21s at the JobServe Community Stadium on Tuesday, September 6, kick-off 7.45pm.
Wayne Brown's side will then play host to Charlton in their Group A game on Tuesday, October 4, kick-off 7.45pm.

Colchester will then complete their Papa John's Trophy match at Gillingham on Tuesday, October 11, kick-off 7.45pm.
Last season’s Papa John's Trophy campaign saw Colchester progress to the Round of 16 of the competition, before bowing out to their League Two rivals Sutton United.
The U's had progressed from the group stages and beat Swindon Town, on their way to the latter stages.
