A VINEYARD in celebrating after scooping a series of prestigious awards.

The award-winning Tuffon Hall vineyard, in Sible Hedingham, is back to its winning ways after landing four new awards for both its wines and its farming.

With over 100 years of farming the land in Sible Hedingham, Tuffon started in 2011 by planting the classic Champagne varieties Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay, as well as Bacchus.

The vineyard now sells its wines in Waitrose, The Dorchester and Soho House as well as local restaurants and bars.

The family business is run by Angus and Pod Crowther who have named their wines after daughters Amelie, Beatrice and Charlotte.

The vineyard also produces a range of gin and sloe gin, and is a popular wedding venue.

All aspects of the vineyard’s business contributed to their award success.

The vineyard's Pinot Noir Rose has been awarded a silver at the 2022 Wine GB awards with its Single Estate Bacchus dry white wine getting bronze

In a local farming competition Tuffon Hall also won overall and picked up an additional award for conservation.

The local win put the vineyard through to the Essex County farm competition where it came second but won the diversification award,

The judges were impressed with Tuffon’s approach to the weddings, vineyard and range of accommodation, as well as the farm itself.

Pod said: "It's thrilling to have won awards for this year's wines so soon after their release.

“Conservation is close to our hearts so to have won a farming award in this area feels very significant.

“We were then up against the best farms in the county and winning an award for diversification is just brilliant as we have worked hard to get our weddings and events and glamping accommodation just right."

The vineyard is staging tours scheduled for July 17 at 12noon and August 7 at 2pm.

The annual Jazz in the Vines takes place on Saturday, August 20 from 4-7pm.
