OUTSPOKEN TV host Piers Morgan has criticised the Government for “wheeling out” a junior minister to defend itself.

Mr Morgan issued a bemused Tweet this morning questioning “who IS” Colchester MP Will Quince, who appeared on Sky News this morning.

Mr Quince, a minister for children and families, was speaking on behalf of the Government in light of allegations made against Conservative MP Chris Pincher.

At least six claims of inappropriate behaviour by the former deputy chief whip have been made, with the Tamworth MP having been suspended from the party.

Taking to his 7.9 million Twitter followers, Piers Morgan Tweeted: “Things are now so bad for this sleaze-ravaged Government that they’re reduced to wheeling out people I’ve literally never heard of to defend it.

“Who IS this guy?”

During his appearance on Sky News, the Colchester MP declined to say whether his party colleague should resign his seat if the allegations against him are proven.

He said: “That’s a matter for Parliament and we have clear processes and procedures in place around recall.”

Chris Pincher denies the allegations made against him.
