CHANGES have been made to a planning application for the controversial retirement village development.
Building has started in Burnham Waters, which will become home for hundreds of people aged over 55.
The development will see a total of 230 homes off Maldon Road in Burnham.
There will also be a community centre, medical centre, sports facilities and allotments on the site.
A new application has been submitted to change the phasing of the original construction plan.
If the plan is approved, 63 bungalows will be built in phase 1a, instead of the previously proposed 44.
The plan looks to reduce the number of building phases for bungalow construction to two.
If the plan is approved, more bungalows will be built in the earlier phase.
The new planning application also looks to complete some of the infrastructure, including the main spine road, foul and surface water, and highway drainage systems and electricity sub-stations in the first phase of building.
There were more than 120 objections to the plans to expand the original development.
The site where Burnham Waters is being developed is off Maldon Road, opposite Ferry Road.
