Incident - the scene off Berechurch Road
A MAN who was arrested in connection with an allegation of rape will face no further action, Essex Police has stated.
The force received a report on Tuesday evening from a woman reporting she had been assaulted in the Berechurch Road, Colchester area, between 6.20pm and 11pm that night.
Officers immediately responded and an investigation was launched. Shortly after, a 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of rape.
A police spokesman said: “He has now been released and will face no further action.
“We are not looking for anyone else in connection with the investigation.”
