THE youngest winner in the history of a televised singing competition has been unveiled as the support act for a huge pop band’s upcoming Colchester concert.

Louisa Johnson, who was crowned the winner of the X Factor in 2015 when she was just 17, will take to the Castle Park stage at Westlife’s headline show on July 2.

Since her legendary and historic victory on the primetime Saturday night show, the vocalist has worked with a variety of famous producers, such as Clean Bandit.

Her first release Tears gave Louisa her first Top 5 single, while her subsequent tracks, So Good and Best Behaviour, also became hit records.

A spokesman for the show said: “Westlife are delighted to announce Louisa Johnson will be joining them this summer on The Wild Dreams Tour at Castle Park, Colchester.

Gazette:

“Louisa has laid a solid foundation and her unique voice has allowed her to make the transition from a young girl winning a TV show to becoming a credible artist.

“It’s going to be an amazing summer of music in Colchester.”

Tickets for Westlife’s Colchester Castle Park show, which starts at 4pm, range from £11.25 to £160 and can be purchased by visiting colchester-events.co.uk.
