A THEATRICAL tribute to the music of Neil Diamond, which will be performed for one night only in Southampton tomorrow (June 23), has just reached a major charity milestone.

Audiences have helped the cast of A Beautiful Noise raise £10,000 for Parkinsons UK.

One of the best-selling musicians of all time, the American singer-songwriter announced his retirement from live performance following his Parkinson's diagnosis.

A spokesman for the show said: "We felt it would be a fitting tribute to him to raise money for the Parkinson’s UK charity each time we perform.

"We hope this will allow us to do our little bit to help awareness, enable research, and one day find a preventative, or even a cure.

"Thank you to all those who contributed, such a milestone, but we will continue!"

From London’s West End, this internationally acclaimed production celebrates the music of Neil Diamond. From the hits he penned during his time in the Brill Building, to the Jazz Singer and countless live concerts, Neil Diamond is a musical icon, selling over 130 million albums throughout his exceptional career.

This is the only show starring the extraordinary Fisher Stevens, together with the amazing cast of professional musicians and singers who performed at the Lyric Theatre in London's Shaftesbury Avenue.

The show revisits more than five decades of musical gems including Love On The Rocks, Sweet Caroline, Forever In Blue Jeans, Song Sung Blue, Cracklin Rosie, Red Red Wine and I’m A Believer.
