A MAN has been banned from a pub after causing damage to plastic screens inside the property.

Eugene Renford caused £150 worth of damage to the screens in The Brewers Arms, Osborne Street, Colchester, on July 28 of last year.

The 49-year-old admitted the crime but denied assaulting a police officer and a woman on the same night. However, he was found guilty by the court of these offences.

Renford, of Compton Road, Colchester, was banned from entering The Brewers Arms for one year by the court.

He also had a six month curfew imposed upon him is enforced via electronic monitoring. The restrictions mean he cannot leave his house between 7pm and 7am until December 1.

Furthermore, Renford must undertake up to 30 days of a rehabilitation requirement given to him by a probation officer.

He must pay £570 in court costs and a surcharge, with £300 of this sum being compensation.
