STAFF from a Colchester hotel have cycled 50 miles to raise money for a charity supporting mental health and addiction.

Wivenhoe House Hotel staff took part in Hospitality Action’s Back in Business Tour, in order to raise money for people in the industry who suffered during the pandemic.

Hospitality Action is a charity that aims to help the hospitality industry tackle social problems, such as addiction, financial difficulties, relationship breakdowns, bereavement or mental health problems.

Oliver Brown, chair of Hospitality Action in East Anglia and general manager of Wivenhoe House Hotel, led four members from the hotel team on their 50 mile cycle around Colchester.

On their journey, the team checked in with suppliers along the way, for photo opportunities, rest and relief.

Mr Brown said: “The back in Business Tour is a great opportunity for us to check in with all our local suppliers, have conversations with the community and hopefully raise much needed money for Hospitality Action, a charity close to Wivenhoe House Hotel’s heart.

“Donations, no matter how large or small, will make such a difference.”
