COLCHESTER United will rack up fewer miles on the road in League Two, next season.

Wayne Brown's side are set to travel nearly a total of 8,265.2 miles in total, in the forthcoming 2022-23 campaign.

With the make up of League Two for the new season confirmed following Grimsby Town's win over Solihull Moors in the National League play-off final, the U's now know exactly who they will be playing.

Gazette:

Brown's side still face plenty of hours on the road, with the U's set to travel a total of 8,265 miles to and from away games.

That is down nearly 600 miles from the 8,856 they clocked up for their away games, in the 2021-22 season.

With the likes of Exeter City and Oldham Athletic departing the league, it has lessened the number of miles the U's will be travelling.

Colchester once again face two away fixtures with a 600-mile or more round trip, against Barrow and Carlisle United.

They also have four round trips of 500 miles or more and 11 of 400 miles or more, next season.

Gazette:

Colchester's longest away journey is once again to Barrow, where they will need to travel nearly 650 miles in total.

Their shortest journey will once again be when the U's head to Hertfordshire to play Stevenage, a round trip of 118 miles.

That is followed by trips to Leyton Orient (121 miles), Gillingham (140) and AFC Wimbledon (150).

Gazette:
