SHOCKING videos and photos captured by Harwich residents have documented firefighters' brave battle with a raging pub blaze which has left two families homeless.
Firefighters from the Essex Fire Service were called to the Hanover Inn, in Church Street, in Harwich, shortly before 8am today and currently remain at the scene.
In total 11 crews were sent from stations in Dovercourt, Clacton, Manningtree, Frinton, Weeley, Brightlingsea, West Mersea, Corringham, Leader Roding, Colchester and Ipswich, as well as two aerial ladder platforms.
Paramedics from the East of England Ambulance Service and officers from Essex Police were also called into action before rushing to the scene and closing off the area.

After arriving, the firefighters found the Hanover Inn watering hole was engulfed in flames and the fire had spread to neighbouring buildings, believed to be historic cottages.
Following a vast operation, the fire was eventually extinguished by 1:54pm and an investigation will now be carried out to determine the cause of the blaze.
Sadly, as a result of the fire, two families have been left homeless while a further two properties have been badly damaged.
A relief crew of six fire engines currently remains at the scene to monitor the situation and keep everyone safe.
