PICTURES: Blaze destroys disused building as fire crews launch investigation
AN investigation will be carried out to establish the cause of a fire which engulfed a disused industrial building.
Crews with Essex Fire Service attended the blaze in the early hours of this morning after a call came in at 2.30am.
Firefighters found a 5m by 10m detached building "well alight" in Thames Road, Canvey.
A fire service spokesman said: "Firefighters contained the fire, before using the aerial ladder platform to expose any hotspots in the roof.
"The incident was finished at 5.30am and an investigation into the cause will be carried out."
