A FED-UP dad says he is considering moving house after a string of criminal incidents targeting his property.

Vandals targeted Paul Spencer’s house in Endeavour Way, Mile End, Colchester, by throwing paint over the front door and the property’s frontage.

Ring doorbell footage seen by the Gazette shows a man carrying out his destructive act on Friday evening, before sprinting off to grab a second bucket and proceeding to paint the house.

It is the second incident Mr Spencer, 29, has experienced since moving from Monkwick to Mile End, after his bike being brazenly stolen from his back garden.

He is now considering moving house should another incident happen as he fears for the wellbeing of his children and wife.

Mr Spencer said: “I have no idea who this person is but it feels like you can’t have anything nice anymore.

“I was getting ready for bed when my doorbell alarm went off, I was watching him do it but by the time I had got to the door he had run off. I gave chase but he managed to outrun me.

“It was gutting, I’ve got kids here and I don’t want them waking up and seeing what’s happened. I had to clean the paint off straight away but it was 10.30pm and dark.

“Now any notification on the doorbell alarm, even the postman, sets us off. It has got me thinking if I need to stay up at night to keep an eye on the doors.”

Mr Spencer continued: “It has affected me a little bit, I’ve never experienced anything like this elsewhere in Colchester. I would 100 per cent consider moving house if things carry on.”

The 29-year-old dad says he is now awaiting the police to come to his house on Saturday to take a statement.

He added: “I would love to know who these people are and why they feel the need to do this to me and my wife.

“It’s gone past the point of an apology now, I want a prosecution. I’m happy to pay a reward for any information that leads to this.”

Anyone with information should contact Essex Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
