A DISABLED man says he has been left feeling “physically sick” after fraudsters attempted to steal hundreds of pounds from his bank account.

John Smith, who lives in Greenstead, Colchester, says he was shocked when his mobile phone notified him of someone in the US trying to access his bank on Friday.

The 59-year-old told how his bank thankfully blocked all the transactions, which were all under £100 and mainly attempted in various beauticians.

Mr Smith, who lives with a brain injury, has now issued a stark warning to others to remain vigilant as he is unaware as to how hackers accessed his bank account.

He said: “I don’t handle problems properly, I’m up tight and to say the least this was a bit of a setback, but I’m not the type of person you should take money from.

“I don’t understand why someone would do this, they’re trying to steal benefits from a man who is disabled both physically and mentally.

“It’s so sad this could’ve happened and I feel physically sick, nobody else should ever have to feel like this.”
