A DRINK driver who was caught by police officers in Colchester High Street has been banned from driving.

Luke Quested was caught driving a Land Rover Discovery with 63 mcg of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, despite the legal limit being 35 mcg, on April 12.

The 35-year-old was subsequently ordered by Colchester Magistrates’ Court to pay £655 in a surcharge, fine and court costs.

Quested, of Peppercorn Close, Colchester, was also banned from driving for 18 months.

A MAN who drove while double the legal alcohol limit has been handed ten points on his licence.

John De Guzman was caught by police officers driving a Nissan Juke in Turner Road, Colchester, on April 17.

The 34-year-old was driving despite being 47 mcg over the legal limit of 35 mcg of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

Colchester Magistrates’ Court ordered De Guzman, of Cranbourne Close, Colchester, to pay £493 in costs, a surcharge and a fine. He was also handed ten points on his licence.

A DRINK driver who got behind the wheel at more than triple the legal alcohol limit has been banned from the roads.

George Gordon-Head was stopped by police officers on April 21 on Mersea Road, Colchester, during the incident when he was driving a Ford Focus.

Colchester Magistrates’ Court heard how the 28-year-old was found to have 110 mcg in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 mcg.

Gordon-Head, of Bronsart Road, Fulham, London, was ordered to pay £1,224 after admitting the offence, and was banned from driving for 25 months.
