THE Queen’s Platinum Jubilee is coming up and with this there are events on in the village for all to celebrate.

Queen Elizabeth the seconds will become the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee after 70 years of being the Queen of the United Kingdom.

Children’s rides, craft stalls, face-painting and a day of live music will take place at Grove Road playing field, hosted by Tiptree Parish Council.

Local musicians and performers will be on stage as well as a DJ, David J Clark.

Performers include contemporary music singer Laura Beckwith, 60s, 70s and 80s singer Martin Seaman, Neal Francis from Six String Makeover group, KYDS and a session from ukulele band Turning Heads.

Food and drink will be at the free event on Friday, June 3 from 11am until 4pm.

Dogs are not allowed at the park and there will be no parking at the park on the day so organisers advise to walk if possible.

Entry is free but any donations will do to Essex Air Ambulance and Tiptree Christmas Fair 2022.

The Clerk to the Council, Rob Williams, said: “The two organisers, councillor Mark Woodcraft and councillor Sandra Redgewell have been immense at putting this together.

“The event has been in the planning stages since late November, and a great deal of effort has been made to ensure that the entire community is engaged and supportive of the event.

“It promises to be a great day – we just hope that the weather provides a perfect cap to the event.”

The Bonnie Blue Oak are hosting a family fun day and BBQ where there will be kids character appearances, face painting, a bouncy castle and arts and crafts, garden games and a DJ from 6pm.

The activity day is on Saturday, June 4 starting at 2pm until late.
