A KNIFE arch was temporarily installed in a bustling park during a bid to tackle crime.

Police officers manned the arch in Castle Park, Colchester, on Monday as part of Operation Sceptre.

Essex Police says the operation has been launched to tackle knife crime head on in communities, and officers are keeping an eye out in the town centre.

A police spokesman added: “This was also a great opportunity to speak with residents and members of the public.”
