A man has died after after suffering a cardiac arrest outside a supermarket.

Emergency services including police, ambulances and rapid response vehicles and the air ambulances attended the incident outside Morrisons, Northwick Road, Canvey yesterday afternoon.

The Essex and Herts Air Ambulance was also spotted landing near the car park. Witnesses say they saw a person recieving treatment from ambulance crews.

Witnesses say the air ambulance landed at 4.18pm. They also say they saw police officers clearing the car park so air ambulance could land.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: "We were called to concerns for the welfare of a man in Northwick Road, Canvey at around 3.30pm on Sunday 15 May.

"Sadly, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. His death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."

A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 3.26pm yesterday with reports of a person in cardiac arrest in Northwick Road, Canvey.

"We sent an ambulance, ambulance officer, rapid response vehicle and Essex and Herts Air Ambulance. Sadly, despite our best efforts, the person died at the scene."
