POLICE are investigating after a woman was threatened with a knife outside a busy supermarket.
The victim, who is in her thirties, had just used the cash machine at the Tollgate Sainsbury’s when she was approached by a man.
She reported he threatened her with a knife and demanded she hand over money, at about 9.20am on April 24.
The man walked off towards the car wash located in the supermarket car park when a member of staff approached them.
An Essex Police spokesman said: “We are investigating following a robbery in Colchester where a woman was threatened with a knife.
“The man has been described as white, slim, 5ft 10ins tall, scruffy, aged between 40 and 50, and wearing jeans, white trainers and carrying a yellow high viz vest.
“We need anyone who saw anything or has any CCTV, dash cam, or doorbell footage to contact us.”
