CHILDREN and young adults are being asked to submit their artwork for the Queens Platinum Jubilee.

Our Colchester is calling for portraits and all creations for the jubilee to be sent in.

Winning entries will have the chance for their art to be printed and installed around Colchester town centre and be on social media. The winning pieces will be showcased for all to see in town for the Platinum Jubilee.

Queen Elizabeth will be the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee so lots of events are scheduled in the town centre for the occasion.

There are picnics, gun salutes, street parties and more taking place over the long weekend bank holiday celebrations.

The winning pieces have the potential to be seen by thousands so now is the best time to get your pens, pencils, paints and crayons out and make some art.

To enter a creative piece into the draw there will be entry boxes in your school or organisation.

Another option is to scan and email the piece to Submissions must be made by Tuesday, May 17.

Make sure to keep submissions free from folds and creases for the best chance to win.
