A PERSON was injured after being involved in a five-car pile-up on a busy road during rush-hour.

Essex Police were called to Ipswich Road, in Colchester, at about 4.12pm on Tuesday following the accident.

Upon arrival officers established five cars had been involved in the crash with one person sustaining minor injuries as a result.

Traffic congestion started to build after the accident but soon eased and there were no significant hold ups.

No arrests are understood to have been made following the incident.
