Drivers faced delays close to the A12 in Colchester, after a van caught on fire on the nearby A120. 

Essex Police were called to the vehicle whcih was on fire on the hard shoulder this morning at around 6am.

Services from Essex County Fire and Rescue Service had also been called to put out the blaze and assist at the scene. 

A full road closure was put in place, to allow emergency services to work.

A spokesman for Essex Police confirmed there were no injuries and the road was reopened at around 6.30am.
