FORMER Colchester United duo Luke Prosser and Ben Coker have been released by Stevenage.

The ex-U's defensive pair are two of 15 out of contract players to be told they will not be offered new deals, at the League Two club.

Scott Cuthbert, Luke O’Neill, Sacha Bastien, James Daly, Harry Draper, Timmy Smith, Ed Upson, Chris Lines, Charlie Carter, Bruno Andrade, Bradley Barry, Sam Dreyer and Luis Fernandez have also been released.

But former Colchester striker Luke Norris is retained by the club.

Prosser spent nearly two years at Stevenage, joining them in the summer of 2020 following his departure from Colchester.

The 33-year-old made 66 league and cup appearances for Boro.

Prior to that, Prosser had spent four years at Colchester and skippered them to a play-off final, in his final campaign with the club.

He also helped the U's reach the Carabao Cup quarter-finals which saw them beat Spurs and Crystal Palace and take on Manchester United, at Old Trafford.

Prosser made more than 100 league appearances for Colchester during a four-year spell at the JobServe Community Stadium.

Coker made 84 appearances in all competitions for Stevenage after joining them in August 2020, initially on loan.

The 32-year-old full-back played for Colchester for three seasons between 2010 and 2013, making 45 appearances during his time at the club.

Coker has also played for the likes of Southend United, Cambridge United and Lincoln City.
