A DRIVER has been fined after having his number plate obscured.
Mihai-Iulian Trofin, 22, of Windsor Close, Colchester, was caught with an indistinguishable number plate in Mersea Road, Colchester.
The court heard “the registration mark fixed to the rear of the vehicle was rendered not easily distinguishable because non-standard lights were fitted above the plate".
The case was heard in Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court, and proved by the single justice procedure, which means defendants don't have to appear in court.
Trofin was fined £220 and ordered to pay £34 in victim surcharge costs.
