POLICE are appealing for witnesses as four people were taken to hospital after a serious crash in Colchester.

Officers were called to Berechurch Hall Road at 6.40pm yesterday, Saturday, May 7, to reports of a two vehicle collision.

Four people were taken to hospital, two of whom had serious injuries which are not thought to be life changing or life threatening.

Simon Rigo, a resident who lives nearby, said he arrived at the scene shortly after 7pm.

He said: “I live just outside so I got to the scene quite quickly, the air ambulance was already there.

“Police were busy working on the incident so I didn’t get much information.”

A spokesperson for Essex police said today: “Our investigation into this collision is ongoing and we are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or has dash cam or doorbell footage to get in touch.
