A BUSINESS owner whose wedding was delayed for a year during the pandemic has unveiled her own bridal salon.

Laura and Perri Payne, from Tiptree, planned to get married in front of 150 friends and family on May 30 in 2020.

However, Covid-19 hit the country and their original dream wedding was postponed.

The pair experienced many delays and issues trying to arrange a new wedding date, especially as they didn’t know when exactly they’d be allowed to get married.

As soon as they could they went for it and tied the knot at a venue with 15 guests in a teepee, completely different to what they had planned.

They finally married on May 6 2021, almost a year after their original date.

It was during the lead up to her own wedding, with all the problems she experienced, when 30-year-old Laura got the idea of opening a bridal salon.

After visiting many shops herself, she always left feeling something was missing and wanted to create the dream experience for brides.

She wrote everything down on a piece of paper which turned into her business plan.

Laura is originally from Tollesbury but has lived in the Tiptree area for the past ten years and is excited to start her business in the village.

She aims to offer a personal experience for brides with her one-to-one appointments.

She said: “One year on and after planning meetings, designers’ meetings, making everything with local suppliers and building the dream experience we are here.

“Everything has been done by me and husband from start to finish.

“Now I am excited to get the doors open and welcome brides, friends and families to my new venture.

“I’m a little nervous, after years of working in an office managing accounts it is time to give the brides what they truly deserve.”

The shop opened in the village centre in 100 Church Road on Saturday to match Laura and Perri’s wedding anniversary.

The first ten brides at the salon who say yes to the dress will also receive a free bottle of Prosecco.
