A TEAM of toddlers turned out in force in a bid to raise funds for children in war-torn Ukraine.

Youngsters took part in a teddy bear-themed fundraiser at Gosfield School.

Pupils at the school start as early as two years old at the nursery class.

Toddlers were teamed up with their favourite teddies and walked to raise money in aid of Unicef UK, which is collecting money to help children affected by the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

The walk took place on the 110-acre grounds at the school with nursery and reception staff, parents, children, teddies and even the school dog Paddington being joined by principal Rod Jackson in the fundraiser.

The group started at the cricket pavilion and made its way around the perimeter of the grounds, passing the school’s newly-planted willow trees, rugby pitch, forest school, pond and performing arts building on the way, before finally heading back to the cricket pavilion for a teddy bears’ picnic.

Preparatory school head Kate Hornshaw also joined the effort with her Gruffalo teddy bear.

She said: “It’s such a joy to see so many children and parents join us for such a good cause, raising much-needed funds for children affected by war in Ukraine.

“We are so lucky to have this amazing space here to use to raise money for charity.

“If you are able to donate on our dedicated JustGiving page in order to help us reach our target, please do.”

Gosfield School is aiming to raise £1,000 for Unicef UK for children in Ukraine through sponsorship of the walk.
