EVERY day Colchester Magistrates’ Court hears a variety of crimes.

We’ve compiled a round-up of people recently sentenced for assaulting an emergency worker.

Kian Hunwick

A MAN who damaged a train window and assaulted a police officer was also found with cannabis when stopped.

Kian Hunwick, of Hawthorn Avenue, Colchester, damaged the window belonging to Abellio Greater Anglia on May 7 of last year.

The 20-year-old also assaulted a police officer on the same day and was found to be in possession of cannabis.

Hunwick admitted the crimes at Colchester Magistrates’ Court and was ordered to undertake 60 hours’ worth of unpaid work within the next year.

He must also pay £340 in a surcharge, costs and compensation.

Nicola Phillips

A WOMAN who assaulted two police officers has been told she must be treated for alcohol dependency.

Nicola Phillips, 52, admitted two counts of assault by beating of an emergency worker following the incident in Colchester on October 2 of last year.

Colchester Magistrates’ Court ordered Phillips, of Rowan Close, Great Bentley, must now undertake five months’ treatment and remain under curfew between 7pm and 7am for three months.

She must also participate in 30 days’ worth of a rehabilitation requirement and must pay £240 in compensation, costs and a surcharge.

Amber Walker

A WOMAN who assaulted three police officers has been ordered to pay her victims compensation.

Amber Walker, of De Vere Road, Earls Colne, launched her attack in Colchester on February 14.

The 40-year-old admitted three counts of assault by beating of an emergency worker when she appeared at Colchester Magistrates’ Court last Tuesday.

Walker also admitted using threatening or abusive words or behaviour which were likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress during the incident.

As a result of her crimes, Walker was ordered to pay £100 in compensation to each of her victims.

She must also pay a surcharge of £95.

Ellise Pegran

A TEENAGER has been told she will face no further punishment after assaulting a police officer.

Ellise Pegran, of Magdalen Street, Colchester, admitted committing the offence on January 22, during an appearance at Colchester Magistrates’ Court.

The 18-year-old was discharged conditionally for 12 months for her crimes, meaning she will face no further punishment if she does not commit another offence within that period.

However, Pegran was ordered to pay £217 in a surcharge, costs and compensation.
