A MAN who was caught speeding and driving without insurance has been fined £760 and handed a two year driving ban.

Florin Sorescu, 26, Capstan Place, Colchester, was caught travelling at 78mph in a 50mph zone in a Mercedes on the A20 sliproad in London on August 16.

He was also caught using a vehicle without third party insurance on the same date.

The case was proved via the single justice procedure at Bromley Magistrates’ Court and Sorescu was sentenced on April 19.

For the driving without insurance charge he was banned from driving for two years and handed fined £660.

He must also pay costs of £100 and victim services fund charge of £76.

For the speeding charge he was fined a further £100.
