A VETERINARY practice has warned dog owners about the dangers of rapeseed.

London Road Veterinary Centre, Lexden, issued the urgent warning amid concerns dogs could be left with breathing difficulties.

It revealed the colourful rapeseed can be toxic to dogs and even walking through fields without ingestion can cause issues.

A spokesman said: “Once the rapeseed is in full bloom, it may leave a pollen dust on your pet’s coat that may lead to breathing difficulties.

“Please, do not pose with your dog in fields of rapeseed.”
