A RESTAURANT set within the historic walls of a 500-year-old structure enjoyed an “incredible” relaunch over the weekend.

The Angel Inn, in Stoke-by-Nayland, Colchester, has long been a staple of the village it is situated in, serving up innovative modern British food to happy customers.

The luxury eatery prides itself on using local ingredients, serving-up original dishes and offering nothing short of a memories experience

The long-standing venue has recently undergone a state-of-the-art refurbishment and has therefore been closed to the public while works were carried out.

On Friday, however, bosses at the Angel Inn were finally able to welcome back loyal customers and newer guests as they proudly showed-off their new-look restaurant.

A spokesman for the establishment said: “It’s been an incredible opening weekend and we thank all of you that visited and dined with us.

“Fully booked all weekend, our wonderful building felt alive once again after being empty for two years.

“We can’t wait to start again next week and look forward to welcoming more of you to explore our gastronomic experience.”

The Angel Inn previously closed down and reopened back in 2012
