A POPULAR food chain has officially opened its new Essex restaurant.

Wagamama unveiled plans to open a new location in Braintree with a premises licence application for 11A Charter Way at the end of last year.

The description of proposed licensable activities includes sale by retail of alcohol both on and off the premises on Monday to Sunday from 10am to midnight.

It also includes a provision of late night refreshment, from Monday to Sunday, both indoors and outdoors from 11pm to midnight.

A spokesman for Wagamama said: "We are so pleased to have finally opened our restaurant here in Braintree in the year we turn 30 years old.

"Our now fifth restaurant in Essex, our plan is to continue to spread the Wagamama love through embedding ourselves within the local Braintree community.

"Our food is food for the soul and we believe in positive eating for positive living – a food philosophy we’ve been following since 1992.

"With true nourishment now on the menu, you can head down to the bench for a classic katsu or try some of our new fresh bowls like our new sticky miso mackerel."

Fans of the chain can find it at Unit 7, in the popular retail and leisure park.

The new Wagamama joins its list of Essex restaurants in Thurrock, Colchester, Chelmsford and Basildon.
