POLICE say they have arrested three teenagers following a failed robbery.

Officers with Essex Police were called to Maldon Road in Witham at around 2pm on Wednesday (April 20).

They were responding to reports of a robbery.

Three youth, two 13 and the other 14, were then arrested on suspicion of robbery.

Essex Police say they were able to catch and arrest the teenagers within minutes of the crime being reported.

They have since been bailed.

Fortunately, the robbery was a failure and all items were recovered and returned to the victims.

Now Essex Police is appealing for information to help with their investigation and anyone with infromation is asked to contact Essex Police and quote the crime reference number 42/98117/22.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: "We are investigating a report of robbery that took place at Maldon Road, Witham, at 2pm on Wednesday, April 20.

"Three youths – 13, 13, and 14 - were arrested on suspicion of robbery and have been bailed to May 14.

"The victims – 18 and 19 – were uninjured and all property was recovered.

"Our enquiries continue."
