Assault - Gary Brimble has been charged with common assault
A MAN spat at a woman and threatened her with a broken bottle during a terrifying assault.
Gary Brimble, 36, has been sentenced to two weeks in prison after admitting a count of common assault in the New Town area of Colchester on April 3.
Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court heard he made threats to the victim in her home, spat at her and broke a bottle to cause her fear.
Brimble, of Maidenhall Approach, Ipswich, was also handed a restraining order against the victim until April 2023 and must pay £128 in a surcharge and compensation.
