THE family of a teenager who was murdered while on a night out are set to embark on a fundraising walk to raise money for blood control kits.

Harry Burkett, 21, was stabbed by a teenager killer in Orwell Road, Clacton, in September last year and died in hospital a short while later.

The criminal responsible, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was sentenced to at least 12 years behind bars following a hearing at Chelmsford Crown Court.

In order to raise awareness of knife crime and money to purchase blood control kits for pubs, his family are now preparing to take on a charity walk around London.

Anyone looking to take part in the fundraiser is encouraged to meet on August 6 at 10am outside a train station in Grays, where Harry lived.

Harry’s devastated cousin Chelsey Thwaites, from Clacton, said: “It would really mean a lot to all of our family if you could come and show your support.

“We want you to help us raise awareness of knife crime and more importantly keep our Harry’s name out there so his legacy can live on.

“Let’s do Harry proud and raise as much money as we can.”
