BRIGHTLINGSEA’S WinterFest ended on a high note with two days of live music.

Festival organisers say they have been delighted with the response to the events which have been held throughout March.

The return of live attractions with an array of music, spoken word, comedy and creative writing, was given a warm welcome and the support given by people in the town and beyond made the 2022 WinterFest a great success.

WinterFest’s final weekend kicked off with live music at the Ye Olde Swan in Brightlingsea, followed by a day of music and a cake sale at Brightlingsea Royal British Legion.

Alix Sheppard, co-founder of WinterFest, said: “We are delighted that we were able to stage a whole month of live events this year and it has been great to see. From all the response we have had, community spirit is alive and well in Brightlingsea.

“Last year’s WinterFest, which was all held online, raised more than £2,000 for the WinterFest Wellbeing Fund, which helps local people.

“We expect to exceed that amount this year and, as well as channelling money into the Wellbeing Fund, we will also be making donations to the mental health charity, Mid and North East Essex Mind and to the Disasters Emergency Committee appeal to help people in Ukraine.”
