COLCHESTER United were among the lowest spenders on agents' fees in League Two over a 12-month period.

A Football Association report has revealed intermediary transactions of clubs from the Premier League down to the National League System, registered for the period between February 2, 2021 and January 31, 2022.

The FA publish the figures every year in line with FIFA’s Regulations on Working with Intermediaries.

In total, Colchester spent £18,423 on agent fees in that period, the fourth lowest figure in the division.

Only Hartlepool United, Newport County and Crawley Town spent less than the U's on agent fees, in that period.

The £18,423 spent by the U's is more than half of that the U's spent on agent fees in the period between 2020-21, which was £41,531.

They were closely followed by Salford City, who spent £116,390 in helping to secure new signings.

Bradford cashed out £108,000 on agents' fees, followed by Leyton Orient who dished out £85k in order to secure some of their new faces.
